I have been living in the UAE for many years, but for most, the documentation to come to the place can be daunting. My ambition for living in the UAE is mainly due to better economic strength, managing my own business, and world-class infrastructure.
Are you interested as well? So, let me help you more regarding the UAE residence permit and the important documents to keep ready. I am going to start from the very first step to make sure you can understand my experience and make decisions appropriately.
Basic Documentation Required
There are some basic documents that I kept ready for the first step:
- A valid passport
I had my passport ready while I was planning to move to the UAE. However, my agent informed me to make sure that my passport had a minimum validity of six months during the time of application. I also kept a clear scanned copy of my bio-data (the usual one you may have done the work), and it was also kept ready for use.
- Recent Passport-Sized Photos
This is a key area that I would like to focus on. I had an old copy of my photograph, but it was not acceptable to the officials. So, to streamline your procedure, keep a recent passport-sized photograph ready for the UAE residence permit.
- Entry Permit
An entry permit is usually provided just before the residence permit application, and this will allow you to enter the UAE legally.
- Medical Fitness Certificate
I also underwent a medical fitness examination at registered medical centres in the UAE. This step is nothing to be worried about; it is just to make sure that you do not have any communicable diseases.
- Emirates ID Application form
I provided my Emirates ID application form for biometric registration and issuance of the Emirates ID card.
- Valid Health Insurance
In my case, I also had valid health insurance coverage for residence permit approval.
